A Family Return to the Aegean

We had always hoped to do this—bring the whole family to Greece. Our children, their beloved spouses, and all our grandchildren. Over the years, George and I made it a quiet tradition to offer each of our children and their families a journey of their choosing, one at a time. A way to give them rest, togetherness, and time away from the press of ordinary life. But this time, we longed to be all together.

The villa we chose overlooked the sea, and in those weeks, it truly became home. The days unfolded gently—slow breakfasts on the terrace, long swims, hikes along the coast, the most exquisite meals we could have imagined. We visited the monasteries, lit candles for those we carry in our hearts, and allowed space for joy to rise between us.

Even with so many of us under one roof, there was

time for each grandchild. One-on-one walks, a shared pastry at the bakery. Oh it was just delightful. All of us together.

We have such fond memories. It was an offering—a gift to all of us.

These are the kinds of journeys we help create—where love is made visible in the time we choose to give.

We help you mark the seasons of life—with grace, joy, and soul.

Kauai, Before Everything Changed

We knew the news wasn’t good. Mom’s cancer had come back, and none of us wanted to spend time wondering what to do next. So we just went. Three weeks in Kauai—Mom and Step-Dad, my brother and me, and our aunt and uncle who flew in from Wisconsin.

We woke up way too early our first morning to catch the sunrise on the Coconut Coast. Took a helicopter tour that dipped into craters and hovered over waterfalls—we screamed like kids. Ate the freshest seafood I’ve ever had… and when we needed a break, we hit Burger King.

My brother and I spent hours in the surf. We laughed so much that people actually thought we were engaged. Oh, we corrected them right away!

Mom absolutely loved the Smith’s Family Luau in Kapa‘a. She was in her element—happy, open, taking it all in.

But what I remember most is the afternoon cruise along the Nā Pali Coast. Her hair blowing in the breeze, her face turned toward the sun. She looked so at peace. So herself.

For a little while, we weren’t waiting or worrying. We were just a family—together.

When you’re ready to hold space for what really matters, we’re here to help.

We help you mark the seasons of life—with grace, joy, and soul.

Oysters, Onsen and Open Road

It wasn’t the kind of trip you find in a brochure. No big cities, no packed schedules. Just the two of us, a rental car, and a loop around western Japan—hugging the coast, winding through misty hills, stopping when we felt like it.

Some nights were spent in ryokans so beautiful it felt like stepping into another world—open-air onsen with views we didn’t speak over, dinners of sashimi, crab and wagyu that made us pause between bites and giggle at just our luck. Other nights, it was convenience store snacks and a place to crash. Both felt right.

I had fallen in love with Japan years ago. For him, it was new—sometimes overwhelming, sometimes still. But there were moments I caught him just watching me, smiling at how much I lit up.

We moved at our own pace. Took turns behind the wheel. Argued about routes. Laughed harder than we had in a long time. Somewhere between the ramen, the vending machine beer, and the silence of an island shrine—we fell ever deeper in love.

We help create space for this kind of reconnection. The kind that doesn't need a script—just time, trust, and the road ahead.
